Early Childhood Education

  • There is no worthwhile argument against providing early childhood education to all children in this country. On the list of priorities for a family, community, state, and nation, ensuring that all of our children are not just placed into daycare, but are given real, evidence-based best-practice education. Just as all People may survive eating nothing but rice and potatoes, the developing body will never have the opportunity to thrive. Our children’s brains are in their most formative stages in those first few years. They watch, listen, and learn constantly. Babies, infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers who receive appropriate early education not only show well-reported benefits throughout their educational life, but are at lower risk of many health conditions later in life: heart disease, low blood pressure, and cholesterol to name a few.

To provide this resource to all communities is one of the best investments America can make in its future. We must tackle this both individually, and as a part of a much larger push to provide support to our public education system Research Universities across the country provide hands-on education in developmentally appropriate teaching techniques for the 0-5 age group. Even these centers are overwhelmingly underfunded. Early Childhood teachers suffer the same curse as public school teachers. They are underpaid, and still consistently use that insufficient check to purchase more supplies for their students.

Fund our schools. Fund our teachers. Fund our children. Fund our future.
